Consultation

Public consultation is a process that involves the public in providing their views and feedback on a proposal to consider in the decision-making. Underpinning effective consultation are two key assumptions. Firstly, that the public are perfectly capable of making sense of complex issues.

The organisation should consider the need for worker consultation & participation in case of the following scenarios or activities:
1. New processes, policies and procedures;
2. Reorganisation;
3. Changes;
4. Changes in legal and/or other requirements;
5. Formal and informal suggestion schemes
6. Planning, establishing, implementing and maintaining an audit programme;
7. Ensuring continual improvement;
8. Changes in emergency arrangements;
9. To improve consultation & participation within an organisation
